Pre-kindergartenText Box: Our Pre-K program is specifically designed to meet the physical, emotional, social and educational needs of 4 and 5 year olds. It provides a fun, energetic environment that naturally lends itself to learning through experience. The program strives to be developmentally appropriate according to the guidelines set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The teachers also use the Ohio Early Content standards as a guideline for curriculum. Lessons and activities are planned in the following areas: Art, Language Arts, Math, Science, Sensory, Blocks, Dramatic Play, Board Games, Listening and Computers. In addition to meeting educational needs, this program also seeks to meet the emotional and social needs of the children. The teachers continue to use the positive reinforcement and gentle redirection that are established in earlier classes and they facilitate learning at the child’s pace.
